How we Started

Adam Zimmer was born and raised near St. Louis, Missouri, where he began machining and studying Mechanical Engineering. In 2014, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he continued to sharpen his skills and expand his experience in advanced manufacturing.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Adam took a bold step by starting a manual machine shop in his garage. What began as a small operation quickly grew into an 8,000 sq. ft. AS9100-certified facility, serving some of the most demanding industries.

With a strong foundation in plastic injection and die-cast mold making, Adam has also built expertise across automotive, aerospace, oil & gas, defense, medical, and semiconductor manufacturing. His journey reflects a commitment to continuous growth, technical excellence, and innovation in modern machining.

Zimmer Design and Manufacturing is currently focused on the semiconductor and aerospace industries, where precision and reliability are critical. Always willing to adapt and advance, we remain open to supporting customers across a wide range of industries and challenges.

By continually investing in automation, advanced hardware, and modern software, we deliver parts that are not only higher in quality, but also more cost-effective and delivered with shorter lead times.

At the core of our business is a commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and customer partnership—values that drive us to meet today’s needs while building the future of manufacturing.
