Adam Zimmer is honored to be named a finalist for the 2026 Austin Under 40 Awards! What makes AU40 unique from other awards is that finalists aren't just recognized for their career achievements. The selection process also considers community involvement and giving back, which I have tried to make central to how I run Zimmer Design & Manufacturing. From opening our shop to train youth and beginners with no technical background, to hosting quarterly gatherings that bring together executives, engineers, and machinists from across Austin's manufacturing community, I believe investing in people and collaboration is how we ensure advanced manufacturing remains a core part of Austin's future.
Zimmer Design & Manufacturing is also proud to be a sponsor of the 27th Annual AU40 Gala on May 9th at the JW Marriott. Since 1998, the Austin Under 40 Awards has celebrated Austin's most impressive young professionals who are making an impact in our community. The event also benefits Austin Sunshine Camps, which has provided the magic of overnight camp — free of cost — to more than 56,000 youth in Central Texas since 1928. We're excited to support both of these incredible missions right here in our own backyard.
The Trailblazer campaign is a great way for friends, family, coworkers, and supporters to participate and support the Sunshine Camps, even if they can't make it to the gala themselves.

2024: ARMA Award: In 2024, Adam Zimmer, president of Zimmer Design & Manufacturing, was honored with the Small Company of the Year award by the Austin Regional Manufacturers Association (ARMA) at the annual ARMIE Awards. This recognition highlighted the company's remarkable growth and innovation in the manufacturing sector. Starting from a garage-based manual machine shop in 2020, Zimmer expanded the business into an 8,000-square-foot, AS9100-certified facility in Austin, Texas, within just a few years . Under Zimmer's leadership, the company doubled its workforce, implemented three operational shifts, and focused on cultivating young talent by hiring for attitude and training for skill.
